The Hoot is the ideal spot for guests who want to enjoy a relaxing break in some picturesque countryside. Press pause on everyday life and relax, breathing in the fresh air, catching up on reading or simply staring into the horizon and doing absolutely nothing.
Sitting in a grassy paddock, surrounded by a sea of greenery, guests are guaranteed peace and plenty of comfort. This horsebox has been lovingly converted into a one bedroom studio with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The property is full of character and charm and stained wood has been used to build the galley-style kitchen which has all the modern conveniences visitors need for concocting simple suppers and hearty breakfasts.
Comfy bench seats and a dining table are positioned with a window view and make a cosy corner to enjoy mealtimes by the wood-fired burner on chilly evenings. When the weather gets warmer, take the morning coffee outside onto the raised wooden deck area, which extends from the back of The Hoot, and enjoy every moment of peace and tranquility this pretty spot offers.
At bedtime, climb up onto a raised platform and curl up under crisp sheets and comfy duvets for a restorative night's sleep. Be lulled to slumber by the hoot of the owls and wake to the sunlight flooding through the letterbox window and skylight. There is a small private modern bathroom with a shower and plenty of hot water, where guests can take their time and plan the day ahead.
There is so much to do in the immediate area, the local lanes and footpaths are great for exploring by floor or by bike. Stock up on picnic supplies in nearby Trowbridge and head out for a day picnicing, river swimming and exploring the pretty pastures and woodlands. The nearby village of Southwick has a lovely Wisteria-covered pub, The Farmhouse Inn, which has a beer garden and is great for a drink. The popular market town of Frome is a short drive away and there are many great places to eat, drink and shop.
Well behaved dogs by arrangement are welcome. No fee for a dog.
