Nutbeam Cottage is one of a select group of properties located at Nutbeam Farm, a working farm nestled in the heart of the Cotswold countryside. You will be charmed by its quaint grey stone exterior with its small paned windows and slate roof and impressed by the stylish and comfortable interior which is designed with English countryside chic in mind. The cottage was remodelled in the 1920s by the noted Arts and Crafts architect Norman Jewson and is an irresistible mix of traditional and modern. Boasting superb views in all directions, this classic English country house has a wonderfully timeless feel and retains all its intrinsic character.
The cottage offers two bedrooms, both with king size beds which can be adapted into single beds according to your preference. Both are furnished with understated elegance and in muted neutral colourways which radiate a sense of calm and will ensure a peaceful night’s sleep under the crisp white bedding. One of the bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom and in addition you will find another full bathroom with plenty of fluffy white towels.
The lounge has a comfortingly traditional feel with classic English furniture and a relaxing colour palette. A log burner provides welcoming warmth and invites you to curl up on the sofa with a mug of tea and a good book, or there is a Smart TV and DVD player for those evenings when you’d rather watch a film or catch up on your favourite box set.
The modern, stylish kitchen is a relaxing, airy space with solid wooden worktops and all the amenities you need including an oven, hob, washer, dryer and microwave. The cottage may be 15th century, but the facilities are bang up to date.
Outside the property you will find a gravelled patio space and a large, grassed area within a fully enclosed garden. There is a comfortable dining set with plenty of chairs and loungers to enjoy a sunny afternoon gazing over the beautiful landscape with a chilled glass of wine to hand. Why not enjoy the lake view from your very own hot tub, it’s hard to think of a better way to while away a few blissful hours.
If you can drag yourself away from the hot tub you will find a wealth of fascinating places to visit and activities to enjoy. Cirencester, with its excellent range of shops, restaurants and bars is only five miles away, and the local centres of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Oxford, Swindon, Bath and Bristol are nearby too. The surrounding countryside has many excellent rides and walks and whether your preference is for high octane mechanised water sports or the more gentle and sedate wind or oar powered sports, you’re sure to find the perfect pastime!

Leave a reviewVery nice cottage. We enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of things which we hadn't noticed when booking which were OK for 3 nights but to be aware of. Limited storage for clothes, one (the en-suite) bedroom has a free standing hanging rail and no draws, the other draws and no hanging. The en-suite bedroom is on the small side, narrow at foot of the bed. The lounge is cosy and doubles as the dinning room, you need to move and open a table and bring chairs from the bedroom to eat. No dishwasher.
