Escape the bright lights and commotion of the city by retreating to Sibton Park’s beautiful wildlife sanctuary. Showcasing carefully, landscaped gardens and crystal-clear lakes, it is an exclusive reserve for an old-fashioned country break. Picnic in the ancient woodlands or take a boat out on the water, before rambling through the wildflower meadows where the deer and cattle wander. After hearty days exploring the land, luxury nights await: where the wine flows and the rich food lingers and the crackling logs burn to ember.
The Cartshed dates back as far as the 19th century and has a privileged position amongst magnificent scenery. Luxuriously restored and with breath-taking vistas, it is a mesmerising update of noble country living. Admire its original timber frame or its vaulted ceilings, or its exposed brick floors and salvaged furniture. Designer pieces add a contemporary twist and are joined by chic, white walls and vintage trinkets.
The open-plan living area is something to remember and has sliding glass doors that run each length of the building. Offering uninterrupted views across the flourishing landscapes, it is an ideal place for relaxed, group get-togethers. Its modern, country kitchen is seriously well-equipped and overlooks the slate-topped dining table and U shaped-sofa. An uber-stylish wood burner hangs casually from the beams and is joined by drop-down lanterns, woollen throws and giant sofa cushions.
In the warm, summer nights you can spill out onto the terrace, enjoying crimson sunsets and star-lit evenings. In the winter, you can wrap up and watch the fields frost over, with their stunning snow-capped trees and shimmering, ice waters.
When bedtime beckons and it’s time to retreat, there are four lovely, en-suite bedrooms from which you can pick. Each cosy double room has a deluxe Hypnos bed with goose-feather pillows where you can rest your weary head. Quirky, little touches add to its farmland character and include rustic, wood headboards and freestanding bathtubs.
The sprawling estate stretches out across 4,500 acres and is a myriad of magical woodlands, open fields and sparkling freshwater creeks. Extensive conservation work has been carried out across the land, making it a haven for interesting wildlife and rare, local birds. A wide range of outdoor pursuits are available around the estate and can include anything from clay pigeon shooting to mountain bike riding. An open-air swimming pool can also be found amongst the land, along with an in-built hot tub overlooking the grounds.
