Set in two acres of beautiful gardens in the Buckinghamshire countryside is Spring Cottage. This 200-year-old piece of history has retained all of its charm, while being updated to provide for modern living. It really is the perfect escape.
The entrance hall welcomes those staying into the spacious cottage and is the ideal place to ditch those muddy boots and coats after a day exploring. The sitting room is great for cosy nights in, with large comfy sofas to curl up on, a wood burning stove, and large flat screen TV. The kitchen/diner is the social heart of the property with light flooding in from the skylight windows and is fully equipped with an Aga, while there is a dining table seating up to 14 people.
There is also a second sitting room, currently set up as a dining space that leads straight out into the garden via patio doors. Elsewhere, there is a library for those who want to find a peaceful moment with a good book, which has a small bathroom leading off it. Meanwhile, the utility room is home to the washing machine and tumble dryer for added convenience.
Sleeping up to 14 guests there are seven bedrooms to choose from. On the ground floor are two double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms. Heading upstairs there are a further four double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, as well as the cosy room with a truckle bed which is great for two children to sleep on. This also has an en-suite shower room.
The front garden is the main focal point of the outdoor space. Here there is a large patio with a dining table and chairs for people to enjoy a drink or alfresco meal, perhaps prepared on the barbecue. There is also a fire pit and a hot tub for up to six people. The pond has goldfish and koi carp and a safety fence for small children, while a small football pitch with goals and a croquet lawn will keep everyone young and old entertained.
Located in the tranquil village of Great Horwood, the market town of Buckingham is close by. Milton Keynes is a 20-minute drive away, while the historic cities of Oxford and Cambridge are also within reach by car.
