Charming hand-built shepherd's hut? Check. Arresting valley views? Check. Peace and quiet away from the rat race of urban life? Check, check, check. Sitting tucked away in its own little slice of north Devon heaven, you can find Sheary Meadow. This gorgeous glamping gem offers style, comfort, and a location to die for. Whether you want to relax all day by the firepit, or prefer to use the cabin as a base to explore one of England's prettiest regions, the choice is yours.
A labour of love for the craftsman owner, the hut has been meticulously constructed using the finest materials both inside and out. Inside, there is an elevated double bed cabin, making for the perfect night-time snug. You will also find a charming little dining table for two, while the kitchenette has a sink, fridge, gas hob, and lovely views over the valley. For those colder evenings, there is even a little wood burner (with fuel provided). Just next door there is a separate bathroom hut which houses a shower, copper sink, and a toilet.
Step outside where you can sit in the lounge chairs and enjoy the valley views while you cook up an evening meal around the barbeque or relax with a night cap around the fire pit.
The north Devon countryside is filled with gorgeous rolling views, miles of coastline and charming villages. Exmoor National Park is also just a short drive away, offering some of the south of England's most stunning landscapes. For beach lovers, Combe Martin, Woolcombe and Croyde are all nearby. The region's beaches are renowned for their surfing, so if catching the waves is your thing, these spots are not to be missed. For a taste of town life, Ilfracombe, Barnstaple, Lynton and Lynmouth are within driving distance. For those who wish to venture a little further, Dartmoor National Park lies to the south.

Leave a reviewThe most perfect place! Firstly, I would like to thank the lovely couple, Louise and Martin (the amazing, warm-hearted owners), for such a warm welcome! The Hut is located on a peaceful little hill that is surrounded by trees and fields. You wake up to a feeling of complete peace and silence - which was so needed, especially if you came from a busy city like us! The Hut is equipped with everything you need from a comfortable and cosy bed to BBQ equipment. The perfect stove which you make warm cocoa in the evening whilst sitting outside under a blanket and relaxing! We came with our little pooch and he was sweetly welcomed by the owner's three border colliers which ended up in a fun afternoon whilst they were running around the fields! Our pooch couldn't be happier, it was definitely a very lovely surprise! Louise and Martin had thought about everything that could be useful during our stay; BBQ, utilities, cutlery, dinnerware, towels, hygiene essentials (in case you forgot your toothbrush, like my partner did, haha!), little welcome scones with fresh jam and butter on your welcome and many more! I could not recommend this place enough! The sensation of tranquillity that this place has brought us could not be described enough! We will definitely be back.

Where can I start??!! A lovely warm welcome from the owners and their two dogs on arrival and our short stay just got better the longer we were there. It's a beautifully crafted shepherds hut with everything anyone could want for a romantic and tranquil break. We had such a lovely stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. It's position overlooking the valley is simply stunning. We loved everything about it, from the welcoming prosecco and scone, the super comfy bed to the BBQ and fire pit , where we sat each night and watched the sun set in this beautiful part of Devon. My partner and I ( and Bella, the dog) absolutely loved every second of our stay. With great beaches only minutes drive away and the local pub just down the road it is a lovely place to get away from it all and really spend quality time together. A big thank you to the owners for making us really welcome and able to share a bit of Devon. We will definitely be back. Russell, Nikki (and Bella)

Couldn't think of a nicer place to get away too and get engaged at. It is a quaint picturesque get away that by only visiting you can appreciate the effort that has gone into creating a lovely place to escape to.

We had the most wonderful few days staying in the Sheary Meadow Sheperd’s Hut. It is a beautiful hideaway and the perfect place if you want to escape from busy life for a while! A perfect secluded spot. The hut itself was very clean and had lovely interior and exterior design. There were lots of handy and thoughtful extras provided by Louise & Martin such as a Devon cream tea on arrival. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you both for a great stay. Morven & Ed
