With fun and luxurious features such as a bespoke bridge and underfloor heating, plus gorgeous views of the Wear Valley, Poppy’s Patch makes a wonderfully unique treehouse experience for up to six people.
As you approach the treehouse along its bespoke bridge, Poppy's Patch makes an enchanting sight. This large two storey property sits on stilts among trees in a peaceful shared garden.
Once inside, a convenient boot room provides space to leave muddy boots and coats. Head into the light and spacious open plan area with a living room, dining table and fully equipped kitchen. Quirky design features such as a sledge, skis and stars and stripes flag artwork evoke the rustic charm of a Rocky Mountain log cabin. Underfloor heating and large leather sofas create a cosy feel and make for a sociable space to gather after a day’s exploring. A smart TV provides the perfect opportunity for movie nights.
The kitchen comes well equipped with a range-style electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. A large kitchen island provides plenty of workspace to whip up a family meal or a picnic. Eat at the lovely chunky wooden dining table or dine al fresco on the sunny south-facing balcony. This outdoor space with seating has fantastic views of the large shared garden, pond and beautiful Wear Valley and makes the perfect spot for a glass of wine under the stars at night.
Three stylishly presented bedrooms lend a decadent element to Poppy's Patch. All have their own TVs and en suite bathrooms, with rain showers, WCs and hand basins. They also come with sumptuous beds and accent chairs and, of course, fantastic views. Two of the bedrooms (one with a super king-sized bed and one with a double) can be found on the main floor. The third bedroom, with a king-sized bed, is upstairs. Here you’ll also find a mezzanine lounge with two comfy sofas and incredible views from windows on all three sides.
The treehouse is perfectly placed to explore the surrounding countryside by bike or on foot. Discover the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty eight miles away, or the Yorkshire Dales National Park 20 miles away. Durham, with its cathedral and lively shops and cafes, and Barnard Castle, are both within 17 miles. A shop and pub are a short drive away.
