Dutch II is one of two accommodations in a chic refurbished barn nestled in the centre of a lovely family-run organic farm. It is ideal for a small family or group of friends looking to take in the country air and enjoy a break in a picture-perfect part of the Cotswolds.
The ground floor has a cosy living room with comfy armchairs and a sofa where you can sit and plan your days, socialise with your loved ones or curl up with a good book in peace. The modern kitchen is light and cheerful with a dining table perfect for four and everything you could need to cook a hearty meal. You can buy a pot of honey and eggs laid by the farm's very own Oxleaze chickens for a truly local breakfast. And if you fancy treating yourself to an arrival hamper of goodies, the farm has a patisserie kitchen called 'The Nest'. The bathroom is also on the ground floor with a large walk-in shower where you can freshen up in style.
Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms, one with a double bed that can be made into a twin if required, and a second with two green iron framed single beds ideal for friends or children. Both rooms are simply decorated and are very inviting with crisp linens and warm blankets for chillier nights.
After a peaceful sleep and a refreshing shower you might like to take your morning coffee outside in the lovely courtyard at your own alfresco dining table. Adjacent to the farmyard and a pond, you can settle in to watch the chickens and ducks wandering around minding their business with the happy sound of cows mooing and horses neighing in the background.
Oxleaze is perfectly situated between the quintessential Cotswold market towns of Burford, Lechlade and Fairford. With picturesque villages like Southrop, Eastleach and Filkins nearby, you'll be spoiled for pubs, shops, country walks and local attractions. For wonderful days out the hosts recommend a visit to Giffords Circus, a famous traditional village green circus with happy animals and lovely people who will take you back to your childhood. In the winter they also host the Sauce Supper Club, a magical experience. Blenheim Palace is well worth a visit and there are plenty of farms to choose from too. For a great meal you'll be spoiled for choice with The Upton Smokery, Five Alls in Filkins and The Bell in Langford to name but a few. The hosts will happily recommend more.
