And with a number of fantastic eating opportunities nearby, including one Michelin starred restaurant, this is the ideal spot for a romantic retreat for two.
Overwater is a charming and unassuming bungalow. The interior has been lovingly designed by the owners to create a warm and homely atmosphere for guests - buttressed by its charming décor, bamboo flooring, and various pieces of artwork. The lounge is set at the back of the house and boasts large full height windows, perfect for soaking up the stunning sea views. A large Ercol table is perfectly positioned for gazing out over the cliffs, and is big enough for delicious dinners or a big jigsaw puzzle. The table can also be extended if required. There is a cushy settee and armchairs, along with a cosy wood burner - perfect for those colder eves.
The large kitchen and dining area is well-equipped, coming with another Ercol dining table and all the mod cons you'll need. The large bedroom is on the sea side of the house and has a comfy king size bed. The en suite is spacious and contains a drench shower and a bath. A door leads out from the kitchen and dining room onto a decking area, complete with table and chairs. There is also another decked seating area to the side of the house. There are also gardens to the front and back.
Lochbay is a peninsula on the north west of the Isle of Skye. With its beautiful countryside, it is a favourite among nature lovers and those who enjoy a good hike. It benefits from stunning views of both the sea, and the mountains of the Outer Hebrides - which can be seen in the distance. The dark skies of winter, undisturbed by light pollution, are truly stunning. On occasion the Northern Lights can be observed.
Guests are nicely placed just one mile from the village of Stein, where the Michelin starred Lochbay Restaurant is located. The local area of Waternish serves the area with a pub, a number of other fantastic eateries, and the Diver’s Eye Boat trips (be sure to ask Gordon the Skipper plenty of questions about the local area! ). Out on the boat you can observe dolphins, seals, porpoises, and - if you're lucky - minke wales. Portree, the main village of the island, is 35 mins away and has several restaurants and attractions, including Aros Art Centre.
The house has fast, fibre to fibre broadband. The TV uses SkyQ with BT sports. The pub is a 20 minute walk
There are many excellent local restaurants, the nearest, Lochbay restaurant, is Michelin starred.
