Nuthatch Retreat invites you in with its warm and restful welcome. From its impressive elevated position on a verdant hillside to its clever one-storey design, this eco-retreat is a haven for couples seeking a peaceful break surrounded by nature. With its own entrance and garden, you’ll find inspiration within the calming Scandi-chic interior which is a stylish mixture of natural earthy tones, leafy plants, mid-century furniture and vintage pieces.
Huge windows and sliding doors to the garden make full use of the wonderful views and let the light flood in adding to the sense of space. The open plan room which also boasts a dining area and well-equipped kitchen, is finished to a very high standard and is thoughtfully decorated with carefully selected plants and art giving it a very luxurious feel. Fresh bread, Netherend butter, locally roasted coffee, eggs, homemade cake and a bottle of wine add an extra special touch to your welcome.
A comfy window seat is the ideal spot to take advantage of the spectacular hillside position while you enjoy a good book or choose from a selection of games to play. When the nights draw in, extend the large drop-down screen and experience the full cinema effect with the 4K digital projector and surround sound system. Don’t forget the popcorn for the perfect film night.
Your tranquil bedroom with its muted restful colour palette, cotton and hemp bedding and king size Vi-spring mattress awaits you at the end of the day and you can be sure of a good night’s sleep as you doze off to the gentle hooting of owls. In the morning, large picture windows provide an amazing view of the valley while you enjoy breakfast in bed. Fold-out beds for your younger guests can be found in a second bedroom along with a selection of toys and games. A stylish modern green-tiled bathroom with a rainforest shower provides a luxurious bathing experience.
On sunny days, chill out on the terrace and enjoy an alfresco meal then gather around the fire pit in the lower garden as the sun goes down for late-night star gazing and conversation.
Enjoy woodland walks right from your doorstep, some deep in ancient indigenous woodland, some through scented pine plantation and others along higher ridges with stunning views. You're spoilt for choice for walks come rain or shine. Try stand-up paddle boarding on local lakes such as Mallards Pike or canoe down the river Wye. Hire a bike at the Cannop Cycle Centre or bring your own to enjoy the woodland trails in the area.
