Take in everything the historical city of York has to offer at No.2 Precentor's Court. This lovely 18th Century townhouse sits right in the heart of the city offering great access to some delightful local pubs and restaurants as well as some wonderful historic sites. Located just a few yards from the famous York Minster, this property really could not be better placed for enjoying the city.
The 4-bedroom house sleeps up to 8 guests and is ideal for a family escape or a group of friends looking to get away together. Traditional on the outside, the accommodation has had a complete refurbishment to combine features that date back nearly 300 years with some nice modern touches. With a mixture of antiques and contemporary fixtures and furnishings, the interior is beautiful to look at but remains relaxed and comfortable.
The townhouse is set across 3 floors, with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area on the ground floor. On this level is also the lounge with comfy seating, quirky artwork, and a tiled hallway leading to a courtyard garden. Once you step outside, despite being in the heart of York, there is still enough space for guests to soak up the sunshine and enjoy some alfresco dining around the Parisian bistro table.
The middle floor is home to 2 large double bedrooms with original fireplaces and king-sized beds, and the main bathroom which is complete with a bath and shower. On the top floor are 2 further bedrooms which also feature original fireplaces and several other traditional touches. There's also a wet room complete with shower, toilet and basin. There is WiFi for those of you looking to keep up with your email correspondence, and central heating is provided by cast iron radiators throughout to keep you toasty and warm in the winter months.
As stunning as it is inside, the real joy of this property is its location in the heart of York. Steeped in history, the 800-year-old cathedral that is York Minster is right on the doorstep of No.2 Precentor's Court. Some parts of the city date back almost 2,000 years to the times of the Romans meaning history buffs can wander around in awe of their surroundings. Those who are that way incline may be further appeased with the National Railway Museum, Castle Museum and Cliffords Tower, but there's also a modern twist.
York's vibrant hub is filled with cafes, restaurants and bars aplenty, so you're guaranteed a lovely night out. Or why not take a stroll down by the river or hop on a boat for a gentle cruise?
