Located high up in the hills in the peaceful village of Firostefani sits the sublime Nemo Retreat. Just a short walk to some amazing restaurants and shops, and a ten minute stroll from the capital of Fira, this is a cracking spot for small groups of friends and families looking to explore the island.

As you step out onto the private terrace you’re presented with spectacular views that are sure to snatch your breath away. Gaze down over the sea at the islands in the distance and enjoy views of the volcano. Be sure to head back out and catch the amazing sunsets later on in the evening as they are not to be missed.

As well as the fabulous outdoor patio area, complete with a luxurious jacuzzi, Nemo Retreat also has plenty to offer inside. The interior is made up of pretty tiled floors, white walls and stylish archways. There are also naturally curved walls throughout the hallways as they bend and meander.

The living space, filled with natural light, is a great spot for socialising as the sea breeze comes in through the open door. Cook up some delicious locally sourced produce in the modern kitchen before eating in the grand dining room, or outside in the sunshine.

If you can prize yourself out of the jacuzzi and avert your gaze from the breathtaking view for one minute to head out and explore then you’ll not be disappointed. Santorini has plenty of dramatic scenery from volcanoes to beaches, and there are also an array of villages and towns worth visiting for their charming seafood restaurants and classy cocktail bars.
