The detail

Amongst the rolling green fields of the beautiful South Hams, Maberly House stands majestically waiting for guests to enjoy some Georgian splendour and 21st century luxury. This breathtaking property is surrounded by private lawned gardens and has views across the green pastures and hedges to the nearby coast. Set over three floors, and with an abundance of windows, this spacious house promises fun and relaxation in a stylish and calming atmosphere. The outdoor space is plentiful and varied but Maberly is minutes from many lovely beaches, pretty towns and coastal walks, so there is always something to explore and discover.

Guests enter into the grand, flagstone floored, entrance hall with the magnificent stairway ahead before heading into the heart of the home, the kitchen. Wooden units sit on heated floorboards and a huge island stands in the centre offering plenty of space for chatting, drinking and even the occasional chopping and slicing. A wooden farmhouse table sits to the side by a window offering views of the pretty gardens. It's the ideal spot to enjoy a relaxed breakfast and plan the day. A further dining room, with a wood burner, offers an alternative for more formal meals.

There are two beautiful living rooms with elegant velvet sofas, wood fires and gorgeous bay windows with seats overlooking the orchard and lawns. One has a television while the other is ideal for screen-free chilling, playing games and grown-up after dinner drinks.

When night falls, there are seven large, stylish bedrooms to chose from. Big sleigh beds with crisp linens and chandelier lighting dominate the doubles, while youngsters will love the attic room with its three single beds and bean bags. There are further doubles with beautiful window seats in traditional bays and perfectly positioned sofas for taking in the morning views while quietly enjoying a coffee. The bedrooms are set over the three upper floors with either ensuite bathrooms or large family Jack and Jill bathrooms. The deep, freestanding tub and large walk-in showers are the ideal spots to unwind after afternoons paddle boarding around the local beaches and coves.

Maberly House is perfectly located for some of South Devon's most lovely beaches, Slapton and Beesands are just a couple of miles away while the rugged perfection of Lannacombe is only four miles away. So, pack the paddleboards, the hiking boots, the fishing nets and buckets and spades to make the most of the sandy beaches, rock pools and calm blue waters. When stomachs need refuelling, the local pub, The Bear and the Blacksmith, is just one of many great local gastro-pubs in the area. the owners are committed to responsibly sourced food and even have their own butchery.
