The detail

The Lower Mill is nestled in idyllic Welsh countryside and backs onto the sand dunes of the Gower Peninsular, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty renowned for its sparkling beaches. This unique, rural location is the ideal setting for groups looking for a tranquil retreat and a place to switch off and relax. The home itself is as impressive as its gorgeous surroundings and is the perfect base from which to discover this magical part of Wales. It boasts luxurious interiors that are finished to an exceptionally high standard, and a magnificent garden with serene country views.

The interior seamlessly blends rustic and modern aesthetics. In amongst state-of-the-art amenities and 21st-century comforts you’ll find traditional features such as exposed brick walls and wooden beams. Designed to be a haven for relaxation, it’s characterised by calming neutral shades and coastal hues, inspired by the Gower Coast. The home sleeps up to six guests and welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs, so feel free to bring along your furry friends.

The main living area truly is a wonderful spot to unwind. It has a sumptuous sofa and comfy armchairs, positioned around a wood-burning stove (housed inside an original fireplace with an antique mantle). It is ideal for cosy nights in, watching a movie on the smart TV. Next to the lounge is a bespoke bar, where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks or an evening cocktail. Sonos speakers across the living space provide the soundtrack for your stay.

The kitchen is a real highlight of the property and a real joy to cook in. It features premium appliances, a large central island and a comprehensive collection of cookware and accessories (including a Hotel Chocolat Podster and Velvetiser). An alcove table with benches waits for dinner to be served.

Guests will have three ensuite bedrooms to choose from. Each room is beautifully furnished and fitted with a super-king size bed (this bed can be set up as twins) with a Hypnos mattress draped in luxurious bedding and throws. The glistening, white-tiled ensuites have walk-in showers and heated towel rails. The master bedroom is extra special, boasting delightful views of the garden and grounds and an ensuite with a Torre duo bath and walk-in double shower.

Outside the home is a semi-tiered garden that backs onto the dunes. A lovely place to spend sunny afternoons and alfresco evenings, it has an outdoor dining area and two additional seating areas, perfectly placed to soak up the scenery.

The Gower Peninsular was the first place in Britain to be named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its breathtaking cliffs and woodlands are ringed by glorious beaches, adored by walkers, sunbathers, birdwatchers and water sports enthusiasts. The Lower Mill is ideally located to discover the area's breathtaking landscape.
