You’ll find this enchanting yurt tucked away in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park near the shores of Loch Voil. Inside, you’ll find an eclectic mix of furnishings and textiles creating a cosy and romantic hideaway. After a busy day walking in the national park or exploring the historic village of Balquhidder nearby, get a fire going in the log burner and relax on the luxurious king size bed as you stargaze through the skylight above. Outside, you’ll find yourselves surrounded by nature in your private garden area. This is the perfect spot to relax in the sunshine and take it all in while something sizzles away on the BBQ.
Inside, the high ceiling of the yurt and the natural light coming in through the skylight makes the interior feel spacious while the colourful array of textiles and decorative pieces creates plenty of character. The wood burning stove will make sure you’re toasty whatever the weather outside and turn on the fairy lights and the antler chandelier in the evenings to make the space extra cosy. While the interior is all one open space, it has been split up into a bedroom area with that comfy king size bed and a living space with arm chairs where you can snuggle up with a book or get stuck into a board game.
You’ll find a basic kitchen area outdoors where you’ll be able to prepare simple meals and cook over the BBQ. The fire pit is in the heart of the garden, allowing you to stay out late into the evening, enjoying the natural surroundings snuggled up in the hanging chair or toasting marshmallows. The bathroom facilities are in a separate cabin where you’ll find a toilet, sink and a shower.
Loveshack Yurt is located in the charming village of Balquhidder near the stunning Loch Voil. The village is worth exploring with several prehistoric sites including a Neolithic burial chamber cairn and a stone circle. You’ll also be able to visit the grave of the famous outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor in Balquhidder Kirkyard. There are plenty of scenic walking routes from the village, some taking you down to the loch where you can kayak or do some fishing, and some taking you up into the mountains of Stob Binnein and Ben More. Venture a little further afield and explore the ruins of Stirling Castle or visit the bustling town of Callander.
