The Looking Glass Lodge is the perfect retreat for couples looking for a romantic place to unwind or solo travellers seeking a unique place to relax amongst the trees. This gorgeous property has a wonderful contemporary feel and huge windows and fabulous woodland surroundings ensure you’re able to fully immerse yourself in nature throughout your stay. The lodge is situated in rural East Sussex, just moments from the beach near Hastings and is only a one-hour drive from London.
The brand new lodge was completed in 2022 and was designed to reflect the peaceful ambience of its natural surroundings. Sitting next to a majestic redwood tree, you’ll be able to spot an abundance of wildlife as you approach your home-from-home. And once you’re inside, you’ll be delighted with the luxurious interiors and sleek, modern design features.
Be sure to get comfy on the sofa in the main living space making the most of the inspiring views as you enjoy your first coffee of the day. The lodge is fitted with full height electrochromic windows, which ensure you can see out, but the wildlife outside cannot see in. Light the log-burning fireplace and stay cosy whatever the weather and when the sun is shining, slide open the glass doors and step out onto your private deck.
The lodge has a modern kitchen that has everything you’ll need to cater for yourselves during your stay and you can dine at the breakfast bar or alfresco in the fresh country air. You’ll also be provided with a few supplies upon arrival to get you started.
For an added spot of luxury, the beautiful bedroom also features an opulent stone bath where you can enjoy an indulgent soak whilst taking in the lush views of your very own private wood. We can think of very few better ways to unwind after a day out exploring the local area. And when bedtime beckons, the superb bedroom offers you the chance to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep amidst the sounds of woodland wildlife and the wind rustling the trees.
You are also able to add on a personalised woodland yoga session at the lodge, allowing you to turn your relaxing break into a wellness retreat. You can even book a photography session through the owners with a fantastic professional photographer to mark a special occasion. There are also delicious deli hampers available from a local deli that you can pre-order to have ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
You may just wish to spend your days relaxing at the lodge, reading a good book among the trees or wandering around the woodland floor. However, if you do wish to head out, there’s lots to see and do nearby. You’re close to some vibrant seaside resorts, such as Hastings, Bexhill and Camber, so a day at the beach is always an option. You’re also nicely placed to explore the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is home to countless winding walks, pretty woods, charming villages and cracking country pubs.
