Press pause and enter a world of calm, peace and mindfulness at Logoutt, a beautifully designed space situated on the edge of a lake in rural Ceredigion. With Nordic and Japanese inspired interiors, this minimalist retreat was designed to create balance, relaxation and a connection between nature and architecture, blurring the boundaries between inside and out.
Start the day with a lie-in in the supremely comfortable bed, with its luxurious Emma mattress and hypoallergenic, 100% cotton bedding. Enjoy your morning coffee gazing at peaceful views of the lake through the window at the foot of the bed. There’s also a huge window running the length of the space, offering quiet views of the trees and rolling countryside beyond.
Everything at Logoutt has been carefully chosen to create harmony, comfort and to connect you with nature. When the weather’s warm you can slide open the bi-fold doors and let the outside in, stepping out onto the custom-built lakeside deck. This is the perfect place to sit by the water with a good book (take a look at the owners’ carefully curated collection) and a cup of tea, and just listen to the birdsong. Or why not practise some yoga in the morning sunshine? Afterwards, feel the grass beneath your feet as you stroll along the lake shore, before returning to Logoutt for lunch.
The cooking space is fully kitted out with every you'll need - chef knives, gas hob, cooking essentials such as olive oil, balsamic, spices, herbs, plus locally sourced Coaltown coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and Halen Mon sea salt.
When evening comes you can get the log burner going and stay toasty and warm. Settle down on the snug daybed to read, play a board game or just simply relax. The dark Ceredigion skies are fantastic for star-gazing, so light the firepit outside and toast marshmallows as you spot constellations.
Not only is this space beautiful and comfortable, but it’s also off-grid and environmentally friendly. The retreat is equipped with all the essentials for a sustainable stay, with plenty of water in the tank for hot showers and morning coffees, and USB ports for charging. Logoutt is powered by renewable energy, making use of integrated solar panels, and the triple-glazed doors and windows meet Passivhaus standards for maximum efficiency and minimal energy consumption.
The bathroom features a compostable eco-toilet, which saves on water use, and the shower features innovative droplet-dispersible technology that vastly reduces water usage by up to 70%.
When it comes to spending your time here, you may well just want to while away the days in peace and serenity in this outstanding location. However, if you do wish to venture out, Ceredigion is home to some delightful countryside and some lovely walking routes. You're also nicely placed to visit the charming seaside towns of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth. Aberaeron offers delicious local goodies and Welsh treats while the town of Aberystwyth makes a great spot to explore, with its independent shops and restaurants.
