Learn moreTucked away in a peaceful corner of the French countryside, La Prairie Étoilée offers a luxurious glamping experience surrounded by rolling fields and pretty hedgerows. Wake up under the canvas of your elegant bell tent to the sounds of the birds and relax in your king size bed. Enjoy an alfresco breakfast in the open air living space or start the day with a refreshing dip in the plunge pool. During the day, head out to explore the picturesque province of Berry, south of the Loire Valley, on the edge of the Creuse Valley, and discover charming vineyards and stunning castles. Or simply enjoy the peace and serenity back at the tent, where you can unwind with a glass of local wine and toast marshmallows over the fire as evening draws in.
Each of the tents is positioned to offer plenty of privacy at the end of its own mown path, with private bathroom facilities and an alfresco living and cooking area. Choose from a spacious Lotus Belle Tent or a Lotus Belle Stargazer which has clear panels in the roof so you can fall asleep beneath the stars. Inside the tent, you'll find a luxurious king size bed, complete with Egyptian Cotton sheets for a restful night's sleep. There's a log burning stove to keep you cosy on chilly nights and a comfy sofa where you can put your feet up after a day's exploring.
Just a short distance from the tent, you'll find your private bathroom facilities with fluffy towels waiting for you along with some complimentary toiletries. Outside the tent, there's a covered area that houses the outdoor kitchen and living space. Here, you'll find everything you need to rustle up simple meals or prepare some treats for the BBQ. Sit at the table in the dappled shade and enjoy a romantic meal or gather around the campfire with a glass of something and plan tomorrow's adventures.
As well as your own private outdoor space, there's a shared garden with a plunge pool. This is the perfect spot to spend a sunny afternoon, relaxing by the pool or taking a refreshing dip to cool off. If you don't fancy cooking, stroll across the meadow to the Dining Barn and let the resident chef take care of it all for you. Hampers are also available making breakfasts, picnics and BBQs a breeze. There's also a small shop stocked with all the basics and a bicycle store for those who want to bring their own bikes or you can even rent a tandem bike for a romantic ride through the beautiful countryside.
Even though it's a little off the beaten track, there's plenty of exploring to do in this area of France. Discover the charming villages and towns of Berry such as Bourges, known for its stunning Gothic cathedral and medieval houses. Enjoy a stroll in the beautiful Brenne Regional Nature Park or visit grand châteaux like Château de Valençay and Château de Bouges. You can also visit The Creuse Valley, which is known as the Valley of the Painters, where Monet and the Impressionists used to come to paint and where the famous female author and activist George Sand (pen name), also famous for her affair with Chopin, lived. Wine enthusiasts might want to explore the vineyards in the area, including the nearby Chateaumeillant, Reiully, Valençay and Sancerre (wine tours can be arranged). The area is also renowned for its many lakes for wild swimming, kayaking and other watersports and there are still many medieval towns and villages and enchanting chateau to visit. Or, you can simply put your feet up back at the tent and soak up the peace and quiet of the French countryside.
