Hidden just five minutes away from the port of Inverie, and with impressive views of the serene Loch Nevis waters, Knoydart Hide is the perfect place for an enchanting and romantic break. Accessible only by foot or by boat, Scotland’s Knoydart peninsula is one of the most remote areas in the UK and is known for its rugged wilderness and its incredible natural beauty.
The newly-built luxury lodge has been designed to make the most of its magical setting and has an elevated position within half an acre of thick, private woodland. With large floor-to-ceiling windows and breath-taking woodland, loch and wildflower views, there is no better place to see untouched nature at its very best.
Inside, the one bedroom lodge can sleep up to two adults and two children and has been finished to the highest of standards combining contemporary facilities with vintage designs. The open plan living room and spacious en-suite bedroom mix sleek Italian stone floors and modern underfloor heating with a feature Danish wood burning stove, vintage gilt mirrors and a huge canopied antique bed. Offering the ultimate in five-star bathing, the designer en-suite bathroom is also a real treat with a state-of-the-art infra-red sauna and a fabulous free-standing stone bath.
As if that wasn’t enough, the lodge makes the most of its impressive natural setting with a stunning wraparound floodlit balcony and a luxurious outdoor hot tub. Set at a constant 40 degrees, the tub has inspirational Loch and woodland views and is the perfect spot for gazing at the clear starry night skies. For an added piece of indulgence, the lodge also has an exceptional in-house team that can treat you to a soothing massage and a private fine dining experience whenever you need.
Home to less than two hundred residents, the area is ideal for an intimate and relaxing break where you can enjoy magnificent Munro mountain walks, wonderful woodland forages and idyllic shoreline strolls. Here, ranger walks can guide you to some of the local wildlife hotspots where roe deer, stags, otters and dolphins are just some of the beautiful creatures that can be found.
If you want to venture further afield, hourly water taxis can also whisk you across to the Isle of Skye or Inner Hebrides to visit the small isles of Rum, Muck, Eigg and Canna. Knoydart has a thriving highland community of 200 residents with local craftshop, quaint tearoom and pottery. Knoydart is also known for The Old Forge inn, the remotest pub across all of UK where you can sample estate venison, fresh langoustines, lobster and hand dived scallops landed straight from their loch.
