Historical charm meets modern luxury at Hop Pickers’ House - a former travelling barn that has been refurbished into a rural escape. Located on the edge of Brook Farm in the Worcestershire Teme Valley, this quiet and tranquil holiday home allows you to relax and unwind.
Accommodating two guests, the ground floor is home to the social area of the property, which comprises an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room. Here a comfy sofa sits in front of the Freesat TV at one end, while the well equipped kitchen is at the other. There is also a farmhouse dining table and chairs, as well as a cosy corner complete with rocking chairs and a wood burning stove.
There are exposed beams and brickwork throughout so the hundreds of years of history of Hop Pickers’ House shines through. Heading upstairs leads to the sleeping quarters, with a four-poster bed and a separate sofa in the spacious and luxurious bedroom. This indulgence continues into the bathroom, where those staying will discover both a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath, which is the ideal place for a relaxing soak after a day out exploring the area.
Outside is a decked area with an outdoor dining table, and guests are invited to explore the nine acres of gardens, meadows, and woods that sit on the farm. The brook winds its way along the edge of the site and there is a kitchen garden brimming with summer berries, rhubarb, tomatoes, and vegetables. There is also a barbecue area, so whatever people fancy doing - from walking the dog, alfresco dining, or simply kicking back and relaxing - the option is there.
Hop Pickers’ House is situated in the Teme Valley where the counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Shropshire meet. It’s close to the medieval town of Ludlow, which has historical attractions such as the castle, as well as lots of great restaurants. Meanwhile, the nearest town is Tenbury Wells and is great to stroll around with its selection of independent shops. For those who want to have a look around National Trust properties, there are three nearby in Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate, and the walled garden at Croft Castle, while there are also plenty of walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
