Highway Hill is an idyllic glamping site in the Wiltshire countryside that offers guests a selection of fantastic shepherd's huts and comfy bell tents.
The shepherd's huts at Highway Hill provide couples or solo travellers with a peaceful, cosy and comfortable break in the Wiltshire countryside. For those looking to sleep and live amongst nature but with all the comforts of a traditional country home, this is the perfect accommodation. With their own kitchens, complete with hobs, sinks and fridges, as well as toasty wood-burning stoves for the cool evenings, guests have everything they need at Highway Hill to relax, unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Guests will be pleasantly surprised by how roomy the Highway Hill shepherd's huts are. Their design really makes the most of all the space they have, with double beds that also double up as a seating and lounging area, as well as a small yet very practical kitchen, complete with a deep sink and everything you need to cook a lovely meal. There's no need to feel the chill at night, thanks to the wood-burning stove, allowing couples to snuggle in the warmth. Guests can make use of the shower block hut just a minutes' walk away, with fresh towels provided. During the summer months, make the most of the glorious surroundings and light up the barbecue provided, enjoying a freshly cooked meal while watching the sun go down.
The bell tents on offer vary in size. Whilst the shepherd's huts are ideal for couples, the two tents sleep up to four and six guests. Each tent is welcoming and comfortable, and feature a variety of touches that help create a special experience. These two tents are ideal for families or groups of friends. If both are booked together, the owners can arrange the sleeping facilities equally between both tents (up to five in each). Though they will need a little notice to make this happen.
When staying in the bell tents, guests have access to the luxurious Safari Tent, which is fully equipped with kitchen facilities and tables, as well as four large comfy sofas, and a lovely wood burner to keep you nice and toasty on chilly nights. The bell tents themselves do not have cooking facilities, so the Safari Tent is the ideal place to whip up some delicious meals and eat together with your loved ones. As with the shepherd's huts, guests can also easily walk the short hop to the toilet and shower facilities that are close by.
Based at the edge of the hills of the North Wessex Downs, the setting is one to dream of, with green all around, fresh air and the sounds of wildlife to keep you company at night.
Set in 100-acres of beautiful land in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Highway Hill can be found in the peaceful country of Wiltshire. Ancient forests, quaint market towns and famous chalk horses all await, with plenty to explore in the local area. Long walks in the open air of the North Wessex Downs, a cosy lunch in a country pub, followed by a nice hot drink by the fire in the evening make this the ultimate romantic getaway.
