A vintage fleet of trailers, all with charming retro decor, just right for a spot of luxury glamping.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 2 nights low season & 3 nights high season
Surrounded by farmland, just a mile from the small market town Saxmundham and close to two gorgeous seaside towns, is Happy Days Retro Vacations, your super cool retro glamping experience.
At this pretty site on the Suffolk coast you’ll find seven retro caravans to choose from, all of whom celebrate old fashioned style. So, will you opt for Dee Dee, the Southern Belle that sleeps four and comes with gingham curtains and lovely wood interior? Or Gloria, a five berth trailer with her original fridge door in tact, beautiful wood interior and strawberry and gingham curtains? Another five berther is Peggy, who features plenty of wardrobe space, beautiful striped curtains and blue upholstery. Nettie the Avion joined the fleet last year and summer 2017 will see the arrival of Wanda the Streamline.
Or will you go for Annie, a large four berth Airstream, with plenty of storage, fabulous flamingo curtains and green and grey checkerboard flooring? Then there is the cute, English Elsie, still styled in beautiful, retro chic, this one is just perfect for two.
Available to hire througout the year, the trailers come equiped with heaters, extra blankets and are well insulated too. Inside, you’ll find everything you need in the kitchen including a retro radio. A small TV for watching DVDs is provided, and a handful of movies are to hand, to keep you entertained in the unlikely event of rain. All the caravans have toilet facilites onboard for that middle of the night trip, with hot showers and toilets on site.
All trailers have awnings, and an outdoor table and chairs, for dining al fresco or for sitting up late to watch the stars come up with your cup of cocoa. There is a communal firepit, as well as individual fire pits that you can borrow to keep you cosy, with wood available to buy at Reception.
And when you’re done making a home in your camper, why not head up the coast to Southwold with its colourful beach huts and famous pier, home to the quirky 'Under the Pier' amusements. From Southwold walk along the coast and take a passenger boat to Walberswick, famous for its crabbing and sand dunes.

We LOVED Happy Days. Stayed in the gorgeous (pink and green) Annie over a cold and damp long weekend , but we were warm and comfortable. Kevin and Jenni are great hosts - very kind and thoughtful and (apparently!) interested in chatting to everyone and dispensing advice, as well as being good enough to share out their children and dog with our daughter (only child) so she had someone to hang out with. The trailers are AMAZING and all the details fascinating- they’ve tried to keep original features, like lighting and plumbing and have added sympathetic new bits where necessary. Ours had an extraordinary bathroom and some mind boggling storage. We also loved the communal areas : party room, poly tunnel with beautiful solar lighting and table football, enormous trampoline and the best bathrooms in the history of camping. Thanks, we had a fab time
