The detail

Goodstay holiday lodges are a delightful collection of boutique holiday homes set on the original railways tracks within Goodsheds, the first urban high street in the UK that invites people to work, eat and play - all in one place!

These lodges would be ideal for couples, travellers or people visiting for work who want to be close to the centre of Barry and all the other delights that this part of Wales has to offer.

Each lodge sleeps two people and has a modern, clean and stylish bespoke interior. Designed to be open plan, each space is just right for two and doesn't feel cramped. The décor is elegant with muted greys and warmer hues to make it cosy and inviting. The kitchen is the hub of the space with clean lines and a cute corner seating arrangement with a table so you can enjoy a meal in comfort. There's a flat screen Smart TV on the wall and everything you could need for a lazy evening with a bottle of something delicious.

The bedroom is spacious and decorated entirely in a soft white with a comfy big bed, crisp linens and black-out blinds to ensure a peaceful nights rest despite the central location.

If you're in the area for work the lodges also come with WiFi and it's a great place to tuck yourself away and concentrate, with liberal cups of tea.

There's a tiled shower room with toilet, sink and heated towel rails to keep you nice and toasty after the morning ablutions.

As well as the cosy interior, each lodge comes with its own private terrace, where you can take your morning coffee, sit at the table for two and make plans for the day.

Being set within Goodsheds means you're surrounded by a huge choice of the best independent food and drink places, boutique retail and an array of spaces to take meetings and do business. If you fancy a good pizza you're a five minute walk from Paletta Pizzeria. And if you want to pick up some delicious nibbles, you're also only five minutes from the fabulous 'Food For Thought' Deli. Goodsheds is also home to an independent coffee drive through – so if you can't be bothered to put the kettle on, you have the finest flat whites on your doorstep!

Head down to Barry Island nearby and enjoy Whitmore Bay. Jackson's Bay, just around the corner from Whitmore is also definitely worth a visit. It would be easy to stay in the area and spend your visit soaking up the local pleasures but if you fancy venturing a little further afield there's plenty to enjoy with a host of coastal and countryside heritage on your doorstep, and Cardiff only 12km away.

At the end of the day you can return to your cosy nook and enjoy a drink on the terrace or perhaps a movie night.
