In the heart of Campsie Glen, a wooded and topographically stunning area of Western Scotland, Finglen Cabin is a rustic and tranquil wooden cabin. The cabin combines low-tech and rugged beauty with the contemporary amenities you need for a comfortable break. Visually delightful, ideally located and architecturally remarkable, Finglen Cabin represents the quintessential Scottish cabin experience, strongly recommended for single travellers and couples looking to spend meaningful time in some of the most delightful landscapes of Scotland.
Everything about Finglen Cabins has been cleverly designed and expertly fitted to create a space which is truly a delight to occupy. Externally clad and internally finished with timber, there is an airy and alpine feel to the interior of the cabin, with its aga and comfortable sofa adding to the cosiness. Drink a cup of coffee or a dram of single malt whisky on the covered porch as you gaze out over the trees, warmed by your chiminea, or relax in the main living space with a book after a dinner of locally sourced game or seafood.
The cabin itself has a single bedroom, with great views and a soft mattress in the large bed, all under a high vaulted roof with exposed cross beams. The bathroom combines rural beauty with modern comfort, and no shortage of hot water. Alternatively, take a lengthy soak in the private double-ended bath tub on the porch, tranquil and undisturbed by anything but the local rare birds.
The cabin itself is set in a large patch of woodland, ideal for rambling, riding bikes, or simply pottering around with a picnic, relishing in the peace and joy of being in such a beautiful patch of nature.
Many guests find themselves reluctant to leave the cabin, preferring to spend their time soaking in the outdoor bath, watching the Fin Burn flow past the cabin, and spending a relaxing few days taking in the peace and beauty of the area. That said, there are a number of brilliant activities to be explored in the immediate area, from an immersive distillery experience at nearby Glengoyne to striding up the Devil’s Pulpit. Loch Lomond national park, world-renowned for its splendour and majestic contours, is right on your doorstep. Alternatively, take a boat trip on Loch Katrine before heading back for a fantastic meal at Old Mill, a historic pub and restaurant with a beautiful garden, excellent atmosphere and phenomenal Scottish fare.
