Fern House is a stunning, new-build house with heaps of character, plenty of sociable space and a lovely private outside area. Set in a pretty, peaceful village and only a short stroll from a pub, this is the perfect location for a luxuriously restful break in a stunningly scenic part of the country.
The gorgeous lounge features two large sofas and a cosy love seat centred around a real log burning stove, just the place to curl up with a book. The lounge has a bright yet warm ambience with large bi-folding doors opening out to the garden at the rear, perfect when you want to spill outside. There is also a large wall-mounted smart TV with Netflix for those rainy evenings.
A very impressive kitchen is beautifully furnished with stylish grey and blue cabinets and solid granite worktops. It is a very sociable space with a large island in the centre of the room and featuring all the mod cons you would expect with high-end appliances to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The large dining table which seats up to 10 guests is well positioned in front of the large glass bi-folding doors, looking out to the pretty garden. When the doors are open in the summer months, this gives a feel of alfresco dining while still being fully sheltered.
A huge perk for guests at Fern House is the impressive, quirky cinema room. This has comfy seating and a projector and wall screen offering 4K ultra HD and full surround sound for a real cinema-quality experience. There is also a small drinks fridge, quality sound system and ambient lighting options. Kick back, open the popcorn and enjoy the show!
The five bedrooms offer a range of sleeping options from super-king size to twin and can be configured in various ways to suit your group. All of them, however, are luxuriously appointed and decorated in restful, muted tones to provide the ultimate in relaxation. The bed linen is sumptuous, the mattresses comfortable and hairdryers are provided too.
The impressive tiled family bathroom is spacious, with gorgeous décor and top of the range facilities. There is a free-standing bath and large walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head. Complimentary toiletries are provided by Notes of Northumberland. The main bedroom and bedroom two each have an equally opulent ensuite shower room with large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head. There's also a handy additional WC on the ground floor.
Outside, you will find a large east-facing garden to the rear of Fern House. Bi-fold doors open out to the garden where you’ll find ample seating and dining spaces. The garden is framed with gorgeous greenery and is bathed in sunshine through the summer months.
Fern House provides guests with the best of both worlds – it is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by lovely countryside, but all amenities, eateries and of course gorgeous beaches of Northumberland are just a few minutes away.
Acklington Village boasts a great little pub and restaurant just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. Morwick Ice Cream Parlour and play area is a mile or so along a winding country road and is well worth a visit. The medieval village of Warkworth, with its impressive castle towering over the main street and five mile long sandy beach, can be reached in just five minutes by car.
