Edens Vale Lodge sits on a valley in a peaceful secluded woodland, a short drive away from both the Lake District and the Pennines, two of the most stunning countryside spots in England. After exploring their famous trails or cycle paths, retreat back to the wonderful cabin and relax in the sauna, or soak in the wood fired bath on the decking that overlooks the picturesque landscape. The wetland area around the cabin is a wildlife haven, red squirrels, roe deer and owls are just some of your neighbours, perfect for birdwatching and taking photographs – just make sure to pack some wellies if you want a closer look!
The cabin features a spacious, open-plan main room with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beams. Beautifully designed and furnished, you’ll find all the luxuries of home to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, cooker, microwave and fridge freezer, as well as all the basics needed for you to prepare meals. A king-size double bed, handmade from windblown oak with soft linen will ensure you’ll have a great night’s sleep. The bathroom has a flushing toilet, shower, towels and toiletries ready for your stay. The cabin is complete with a fireplace to warm up by in the cooler months.
Edens Vale Lodge couldn’t be better placed, surrounded by some of the most scenic spots in the country. As well as some lovely walks right from your cabin, you can also rent a bike and try out the Coast 2 Coast cycle route, or even go horse riding at the Bank House Equestrian riding school, just a five-minute walk away. A 30-minute drive to the Lake District and you can explore the lakes and rugged fell mountains, or take in the moorland scenery of the Pennines, also just a short drive away.
The historic towns of Penrith and Appleby are both within a 20-minute drive, with castles and museums to visit. Carlisle City is a 30-40-minute drive and is a great day out where you can see Hadrian’s Wall, visit Carlisle Cathedral or have a stroll around the glacial lake in Talkin Tarn Country Park. If you were after somewhere a bit more local, Langwathby is within walking distance and has a shop for supplies, as well as The Shepherds pub which serves food. There are also some charming pubs in the nearby village of Kirkoswald, a ten-minute drive from the cabin.
