For a romantic getaway in beautiful, peaceful surroundings, Gardener's Retreat offers couples a place to unwind in tranquility and privacy. This stylish, wooden studio cabin is situated amongst acres of stunning countryside on the Hutton John Estate, just a few miles from lovely Keswick and pretty Penrith.
Guests step into the open plan, studio-style cabin through large double patio doors where they will find all they need for a relaxing and luxurious stay.
In the bedroom area is a super-king size bed, dressed with crisp linens and snuggly duvets, where you can enjoy lengthy lie-ins watching movies or planning the day while sipping mugs of coffee from between the sheets. With under-bed drawers and a built-in wardrobe, there is plenty of space to stash belongings out of sight.
There is a small living area with a plush sofa with direct views outside and it is just the spot to enjoy a glass of wine while dinner cooks in the kitchen. Or, pull up a stool at the breakfast bar and help out with the slicing and chopping in the well-equipped kitchen which, despite its size, has plenty of space for creating cosy suppers and delicious dinners.
Enjoy tucking into culinary treats while taking in the views from the breakfast bar, or head outside and make the most of the fresh air and fabulous surroundings. The retreat has a spacious, paved area at the front of the property with patio dining furniture, so pop open a bottle, sit back with a book and relax, there really is no need to leave the cabin other than for topping up on supplies.
At night, the clouds clear to reveal a spectacular astronomical show, the area has little light pollution, so makes a great spot to watch meteor showers amongst the constellations. For the ultimate in luxury, slide into the wood-fired hot tub and enjoy the show while relaxing in the warm waters.
The location of the cabin makes exploring the Lake District a must, if guests can tear themselves away from the estate. The pretty lakeside market town of Keswick is just a short drive away and visitors will find plenty of great pubs, restaurants and shops. Be sure to sip a pint in The Dog and Gun, and visit the Theatre by the Lake which has a great program of films and performances throughout the year.
