On the northern edge of the English Cotswolds sits the Dutch Barn. This farmyard conversion is a modern twist on a rustic stalwart, promising guests a stay that includes both style and substance. The Barn is beautifully bedecked throughout, presenting a sleek interior, stylish furnishings, and spacious rooms basking in natural light. Not only is it perfect for large groups to lay back and enjoy the serenity of the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, but it also provides the ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. Sleeping up to 14 guests, this is the perfect retreat for large groups of friends and family alike. This truly is a stay like no other.
The barn was designed by the award winning architects studio Turner. Works. The studio has been widely recognised for its work, winning the Royal Institute of British Architect’s Manser Medal in 2013 along with a number of other prestigious awards.
The corrugated steel exterior is painted in a smooth black finish, while the interior has been decorated in an elegant, yet minimalist, style. The ground floor boasts a large open-planned living space. At one end of the lounge, guests can recline on the large couch and soak up the country views though the floor to ceiling windows. On the other, there are several plush beanbags from which to enjoy the drop-down cinema screen. The island kitchen comes fully equipped, while the large industrial style dining table is perfect for enjoying a feast with loved ones. The ground floor also offers a king-sized bedroom with an accompanying wet-room - ideal for those with limited mobility. Upstairs, there are six more bedrooms. This includes the master king-size bedroom with an en-suite, two king-size bedrooms, a twin room and two adult bunk rooms. There are two further bathrooms upstairs: one with a bath and shower and the other with a shower. Outside, there is a large wraparound decking area with garden furniture.
Long Compton is a quaint little village, typical of the region. The nearby Red Lion is a classic country inn, offering guests a warm welcome and delicious pub grub. Worth a visit is the nearby town of Stow-on-the-Wold. The archetypal Cotswold town, known for its antique trade, is replete with charming shops, boutiques, and family owned restaurants. The spa town of Cheltenham and world-famous university city, Oxford, are both no more than a 40-minute drive in opposing directions. The Cotswolds - a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - is known for its rolling hills, charming stone-built villages, historical towns, and stately homes and gardens. Due to the outstanding scenery it is popular with walkers, so guests won't struggle to find picturesque trails to enjoy. It is also worth mentioning that Daylesford is 10 minutes away and Soho Farm House is 15 minutes away, and both are well worth a visit.
