There are 10 unique bedrooms in this getaway, which has been designed in the image of a boutique hotel. Walnut House is located just a few paces away from the cosy comfort of The Duncombe Arms and each of its rooms have been carefully designed and decorated.
A different artisan wallpaper adorns each bedroom, helping to display the amazing art work curated especially for the property by the Crane Kalman Gallery of London. Sumptuous armchairs made of high quality fabric, a writing desk, Nespresso coffee machine, Smart TV, and a Roberts DAB radio adds that added touch of luxury. There are two family rooms, which come complete with a double bed and a sofa bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There are a further eight large double bedrooms, four of which have en-suites with a bath and shower and four of which just have a shower. All of the bathrooms are kitted with handmade Bamford products.
Breakfast is included within the price, but there is a whole host of delicious food and drink on offer beyond that. The Duncombe Arms is a proudly independent inn and there is an array of wines, beers, and craft spirits available. Meanwhile, the highly regarded food menu mixes pub classics with modern British dishes that provide an ever-evolving selection of the very best of local and seasonal produce.
For those who want to get out and about they perhaps couldn’t be more ideally placed. The Duncombe Arms is located right on the edge of the Peak District and within easy reach of the Pennines. As well as being the perfect spot for hikers and cyclists, the River Dove flows right by the pub’s garden and is excellent for trout fishing. The pretty market town of Ashbourne and Uttoxter Racecoure are also a short drive away. For the more adventurous, watersports such as windsurfing and kayaking are available at nearby Carsington Reservoir, while Alton Towers is only 3 miles away.
