The detail

Escape to two adjoining cottages on the Fring Estate, just a short drive from Brancaster and Thornham. Book Park Cottage and Gardener's Cottage together and you will have found yourself a totally relaxing and a laid back luxury self-catering retreat for sixteen, located on this beautiful private estate close to the coast.

Set in glorious grounds and wonderfully secluded, these two stylish rustic retreats are sublimely positioned amidst pretty woodland and parkland and yet are both within easy reach of North Norfolk’s best beaches.

Both cottages used to house estate workers, but in 2015 and 2018 were expertly converted into two rustic luxury homestays with light and bright interiors.

The traditional carrstone wall exteriors conceal the modern features inside. With stripped floor boards, both properties are honest yet welcoming with lots of light and combined together, offer spacious yet private houses close but by no means on top of one another.

Park Cottage sleeps six and boasts a master super-king bedroom, king-size bedroom and a twin with two full-size singles, all dressed with crisp white linens. There are two bathrooms; a family bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs, so perfect for a group of friends or smaller family, whilst Gardener's Cottage comfortably sleeps ten, with three king-size bedrooms upstairs and a ground floor bedroom with two double beds plus two upstairs bathrooms and a downstairs WC. Perfect for a group of friends or larger family gathering, Gardener's boasts a table and seating for sixteen to allow everyone to sit down and eat together too.

The Cottages are wonderful retreats for those wanting to enjoy country life, yet still be in easy reach of the coast for saltwater adventures. With gorgeous grounds are perfect for relaxing and unwinding and with plenty of al fresco dining opportunities these places are perfect for lazy summer days or cooler winter evenings when all you want to do is share good conversation around the fire.

The estate provides the facility to hire bicycles (adults and children's bikes available). Details will be provided on your arrival guide but three bicycles are provided for use during your stay so you can explore the expansive grounds on two wheels. Cycle routes will be supplied in the cottage for you too. Equally guests can use the thee footpaths and cycle paths within the estate during their stay.

When you're not on foot or cycling the quiet lanes, then drive to the beaches at Old Hunstanton, Brancaster or Wells. For the more adventurous, head to Hunstanton Water Sports centre or discover the wildlife at Pensthorpe, Snettisham Park Farm or the RSPB reserves at Titchwell or Snettisham.

The small rural village of Fring is only a 10 minute drive away from the beautiful but sometimes busy North Norfolk coast and is less than 10 minutes from HM The Queen’s Sandringham estate, parkland and grounds. In the heart of West Norfolk the ever-popular village of Burnham Market is very close by and offers numerous pubs/restaurants, boutiques and independent shops. Burnham Thorpe the Birthplace of Admiral Lord Nelson is worth a visit too, as is Brancaster Staithe with its sailing facilities.
