Set amongst 15 acres of beautiful landscapes, with views of the ocean and mountains beyond, this luxurious architect-designed house makes the perfect base for visitors wanting to unwind and relax or have an adventure in what is regarded as the Outdoor Capital of the UK.
Ceithir Raithean has been designed to rest effortlessly against the surrounding environment. It's constructed with gorgeous Canadian Cedar and local slate and stone has been used throughout to tremendous effect. The breathtaking environment offers soothing coastal views against the majestic backdrop of the magnificent Cuillin mountains over on the Isle of Skye. The house has been designed to maximise this beautiful vista, a large raised wooden deck provides the perfect vantage point, while, on less sunny days, the stunning triangular floor-to-ceiling windows mean guests never miss a moment.
Visitors arrive through wooden-framed doors onto large, smooth grey tiles in this sleek and stylish, yet warm and welcoming home. Recharge from the journey with tea in the warm kitchen. Wooden sage units sit beside a large range oven and deep Belfast-style sink. This lovely room has all the modern conveniences required for creating delicious dinners to be enjoyed at the large wooden kitchen table with bench seating.
After days exploring the local beaches and hills, settle into the comfy living area. There are two inviting Chesterfield-style sofas and hiking-weary toes can be warmed by the wood burning fire. The stunning exposed brick fireplace takes centre stage in this cosy space which has bifold doors which lead out onto the deck.
Guests will love taking in the environment whether from the warm comfort of the luxurious living area or outdoors sipping cocoa at the al fresco dining table and chairs. And if you want an added slice of luxury, why not hop in the hot tub and take in the scenery with a glass of bubbly?
When bedtime beckons, there are four stylish and comfortable bedrooms to chose from. Three are doubles, two are en suite, and there is a further single bedroom. A large, luxurious jacuzzi bathroom is the perfect spot to turn up the bubbles and melt away the stress. Big, fluffy towels are provided and underfloor heating keeps those toes suitably warm.
The local area has something for everyone whether hiking and wild swimming, wildlife spotting and scenic drives or high wires and ski slopes. Rumbling bellies and thirsty mouths can easily be satisfied. In the lovely, nearby, town of Mallaig check out Jaffy's Smokehouse, or head to the waterside Glenuig Inn. Also recommended is a trip to the Ben Nevis Distillery for some whiskey tasting.
