Around 25 miles from Edinburgh on Scotland’s east coast, Williamstone Farm Steadings offers a luxurious barn conversion. Situated on four acres of land just outside North Berwick, these former farm buildings have been renovated to a high standard which sees original features combined with cool modern touches.
The Barn, a Grade B-listed former grain store which now accommodates up to eight guests in superb style. High ceilings, exposed beams and bare stone walls give it tons of character from the get-go, and a large kitchen and living room offer lots of space, including a dining area.
Just above, check out the mezzanine floor, this is a perfect den for teenagers with a sofa, smart tv, Playstation and gaming chair, while back at ground-level two beautiful bedrooms (one of which can be a twin) share a stunning bathroom with double-ended bath and waterfall shower. Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys its own en suite facilities.
You will enjoy a fabulous coastal location with the nearest beach less than a mile away. Everything you could need – including a pub, restaurant, shop and train station – are within a ten-minute walk. That makes it easy to head off to Edinburgh, or make the most of North Berwick itself. The pretty harbour, home of the Scottish Seabird Centre, is well worth a look, and you’ll find coffee shops and delis in town too.
There are numerous golf courses in the area, and Scottish heritage to explore at Tantallan Castle or the Glenkinchie Distillery – to name just a couple of the region’s attractions.

Congratulations! Well deserved winner of Herald Best Renovation/Conversion. Just spent 4 days in The Bothy - wonderful. "Exactly as it says on the tin" and MORE. Also, for a real treat, just sit back and have your dinner prepared and served in situ. Steph will put you in touch with an excellent chef, Lisa.
