• The easiest way to get to the village is by car, however, you can’t drive in the village itself. If you’re renting a car or bringing your own, there will be a space for you reserved in an underground car park nearby.

Capitolare Tower dates back to the 12th century and is set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by stunning natural beauty and rich cultural history. The tower itself has been beautifully restored and includes plenty of modern luxuries while showing off its original character. The interior design has been inspired by the movement of the sea which you'll find in the colours and materials used throughout the space. You'll be able to soak up the breathtaking views from the tower's rooftop terrace, relax on the 3D printed bed and enjoy romantic dinners at the marble dining table. It's the perfect spot for a couple's escape where you can immerse yourself in the slower pace of life by the Italian coast.

Step inside and make your way to the open-plan living and dining area, where the beautiful exposed stone of the tower, curved ceilings and soft lighting create a warm and inviting atmosphere. You'll be able to whip up delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen which you can then enjoy at the Portoro marble dining table. After dinner, head up to the rooftop terrace and take in the panoramic views of the sea, the charming village below and the distant islands. Watch the sunset over the water as you enjoy a glass of something with a fire going in the fire pit to keep you warm. The terrace is the highest point in the village, offering plenty of privacy as you relax on a sun lounger or enjoy an alfresco lunch.

You'll find the bedroom on the top floor of the tower so you can wake up to the spectacular view each morning. The striking bed has been 3D printed to resemble the waves and is complete with a luxurious mattress for a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom is beautifully designed with marble finishes and includes a walk-in shower and stunning sea views.

Located along the rugged Italian Riviera, there's plenty of exploring to do in the surrounding area. Start with a stroll through Portovenere's narrow streets, lined with colorful houses and leading down to the historic harbour. For even more stunning views, head up to the Church of St. Peter, which you'll find perched on the cliffside overlooking the sea and the village. The tower also serves as an ideal base for exploring the nearby Cinque Terre region, known for its picturesque coastal villages and hiking trails. You can set off on a boat tour and take it all in from the water or lace up your hiking boots and set off along coastal trails that link pretty villages and hidden coves. Stop off on the way to try the Ligurian specialties, including fresh seafood pasta and pesto or pick up some fresh food to create a romantic dinner back at the tower.
