The apartments are located in the 'Ecurie Sud' or South Stable in a former farm building overlooking a beautiful park and the troubador castle on the grounds. The whole space has been converted into three spacious airy apartments perfect for creative types wanting to be inspired, or anyone wanting to kick back and relax. Each accommodation is beautiful and light with whitewashed walls, original red brick ceilings and cement floors and they have all been decorated with carefully selected modern furniture and fabulous contemporary art.

Whilst all of the apartments have their own fully equipped kitchens and dining areas there's also a large table for everyone to get together for food and chat.
Apartment one (Rez De Chaussee) is on the ground floor but has the feel of a loft with light walls and high ceilings. With one double bed and one single it can comfortably accommodate three friends or a small family and has a cool bathroom with a shower as well as the modern kitchen with fridge freezer and oven/hob where you can cook a meal and share it at the dining table. The decor is muted and pale with pops of bright fun colour which warm the space. A hanging chair adds a touch of playfulness to this modern funky area.

Apartment two (First Floor) is also airy and light with whitewashed walls and a five metre high ceiling. The largest of the three apartments, it comfortably accommodates four to five people with one double bedroom and a second double that also contains a single bed. The bathroom is modern, tiled and has a shower and separate toilet. There are some fabulous pieces of modern art dotted around and the kitchen area has everything you could need and a good size table to sit around with friends or loved ones for a thrown together feast and a bottle of beer. As with all the accommodation the furniture is both utilitarian and stylish and this apartment boasts a very cool lounger for snoozing or reading on.

Finally, the Studio, charmingly named 'Sous le Ciel' (Beneath the Sky) can be found on the second floor. This cosy retreat is perfect for two people and offers a breathtaking view of the park. Open plan with beautiful exposed beams and a wooden floor, this room has everything you could need. A cute lounge area with pale blue soft seating and a bean bag lends the space a feeling of floating in the clouds. There's a white double bed and a skylight in addition to the two windows overlooking the park and courtyard, keeping the space light and airy. The kitchen, like the other apartments, is fully equipped and the owners can provide a cot on request.

There's plenty to do in the area and the owners are happy to advise on any excursion you might like to make. Visit the nearby Medieval town of Mirepoix and explore the Place des Couverts, a lovely covered market with plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy between browsing the stalls. Pop in to the historic Mirepoix Cathedral, founded in the 11th century, it has the largest apses in France! And for local restaurants in Lagarde why not try Restaurant Le Grain de Sel, and L'autre Jardin?

This lovely conversion would be perfect for an extended family wanting to explore the area or a group of artists looking for a place to retreat and create.
