The detail

Situated in a small valley overlooking mile upon mile of stunning Spanish vineyards, the Can de Fontana is a beautiful house full of rustic charm. Tucked away from the main tourist trails, this traditional terracotta coloured Catalonian retreat is the perfect place to enjoy a rural Spanish holiday with your nearest and dearest.

Can de Fontana is lavishly furnished throughout and offers all the home comforts any holiday maker could wish for, combined with high end pieces, spacious bedrooms and cosy living areas.

The kitchen is well-equipped and thoroughly modern by design. It offers all the modern appliances you will need including a dishwasher, oven, hob and fridge and freezer. There is also a separate laundry area complete with washing machine. Arched windows let in plenty of light, and tiled floors and brick walls keep the kitchen cool. The dining space sits next to the kitchen and offers plenty of space for you and your guests to eat around a traditional dark wood table, away from the heat of the midday sun.

Step through the double doors leading from the dining are and out onto the covered terrace for al fresco meals and long, lazy evenings with friends. There is also a barbecue, and the owners of the house will happily sell you a bottle of their locally produced wine to accompany your meal.

The sitting room has enough space to seat everyone, and has an exceptionally cosy feel. There is a TV for watching local television and WiFi for keeping in touch with the rest of the world.

All of the three bedrooms are spacious and offer amazing views across the mountains of Morral, the Falset valley or out over the extensive gardens. Vintage bedsteads and bright coloured walls and linen add a retro-chic feel and you will sleep easily in rooms kept cool with traditional wooden shuttered windows.

Each bedroom has a double bed and its own private bathroom, offering plenty of privacy for each of your group. Bathrooms are modern, well fitted, and perfect for showering off after a long day around the pool.

Situated in a private location on the land of the Coll family home, Can de Fontana is in the heart of the Priorát wine district. The pool area is raised and overlooks the stunning vineyards and valleys below, and is an amazing sun trap for catching those perfect Spanish rays.

If you can tear yourself away from the splendour of Can de Fontana, you could go for a 3km walk along the gravel road to the town of Falset. Lively yet compact, the town offers plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as daily trains into Barcelona, Tarragona, and the Universal Studios Port Aventura.

For anyone looking to experience Spanish beach life, the Costa Dorada is approximately a 40 minute drive away. Luxury and seclusion in the heart of the wine country awaits you at Can de Fontana.
