A wonderful, late-Gothic palace on the route of Venice’s Canal Grande is home to the Ca’ Garzoni Moro Lido apartment. This two-bedroom apartment enjoys lovely views of the city and is only a few minutes from many of the city’s sights.
The building dates from the 15th century and has been recently restored. Lido has views of the canal on one side, with the other looking out over the roofs of nearby buildings. It’s light and airy, and close to many of the city’s main sights. Salizada San Samuele, Calle della Mandola and Campo San Maurizio are all nearby, with plenty of shops, restaurants and the famous antique open market of San Maurizio to explore.
The apartment’s large living area provides more than enough room to entertain some friends, with high-quality furnishings throughout. The seating area features a wall-mounted TV with satellite channels, and the adjacent dining space can seat up to ten around the marble-top table.
A bar and kitchen area is just next to the dining space, and features everything you are likely to need, including a dishwasher. The rest of the apartment is well-equipped with tech too, including a lift, air-conditioning and home automation appliances.
Either of the double bedrooms will give you a glorious place to sleep, each one complemented by an equally gorgeous en suite bathroom, with shower, double sinks and bath tub. An extra bed can be added to the largest bedroom, giving the apartment a maximum capacity of five.
Beautiful whatever the time of year, Venice continues to enchant first-time visitors and keeps regulars coming back for more. Among the attractions worth a visit are the Palazzo Grassi, just a short walk from your apartment, where you will find exhibitions of contemporary art, and there’s more at its sister venue, Punta della Dogana.
Palaces of note include Palazzo Grimani and Palazzo Mocenigo, while the pretty churches are too numerous to mention. The iconic Doge’s Palace and the breathtaking opera house, La Fenice, are great candidates for your list too, as well as that near-obligatory, but none the less enjoyable, gondola ride. It just seems right, doesn’t it?
