The detail

The first glamping spot in all of Italy, nestled in the grounds of a stunning historic villa, Glamping Canonici is a dreamy and ultra-luxurious accommodation solution in one of Italy’s most majestic yet undiscovered regions. From the moment you wake in your four-poster bed in an extraordinary yurt-style tent to the last cocktail of the evening as the golden Mediterranean sun sets in the distance, everything about a trip to Glamping Canonici is tasteful, elegant, and magnificent.

Guests looking to experience a no-compromise getaway without a significant carbon footprint will be delighted by the green philosophy which is at the heart of the Glamping Canonici experience. Furthermore, Glamping Canonici recognises that time away from screens and the perpetual stresses of daily connectivity is essential for a truly unwinding time away, so you’ll find the tents and surrounding leisure spaces are generally free from the electronic diversions which permeate everyday life.

Set up in 2009, Glamping Canonici is proud to be the oldest dedicated glampsite in all of Italy! Everything about the site subtly suggests elegance, taste, and a commitment to providing the holiday of a lifetime. Internally, the tents are furnished to the high standards which you would expect from a five star hotel, with antique furniture and art objects judiciously arranged.

Each of the four tents has its own distinctive aesthetic personality, with subtle distinctions between them. Bagolaro is African in its theme, with warm colours and abundant animal print characterising this space which can accommodate between one and six guests. It has a fully plumbed in bathroom, Wi-Fi throughout, Nespresso machine, one double bed and four singles, and a full minibar, as well as a pellet fed stove to ensure maximum hygge whatever the season.

Bamboo is another ‘suite style’ luxury tent, with the amenities and size of Bagolaro, but a more regal, European style to the décor and furniture. Kaki is smaller, suitable for up to four guests between the large double bed and two singles, but it also boasts the same range of high end amenities, and a boho-chic style which emphasises distressed timber, print pattern upholstery and edgy furniture.

Finally, Gelso is the same smaller size, but has a tree and wood theme designed to create harmony with the nearby forests. One tree grows up into the lodge itself, meaning you can fall asleep below its boughs, while the furniture and finishes of Gelso are crafted from ancient woods from all over the world.

The estate itself offers multiple activities, from wine-tasting to various local sports. Alternatively Venice can be reached in twenty minutes using public transport alone. There are numerous nearby beaches, as well as independent bars, restaurants and local shops.
