Located on the edge of the North Wessex Downs, within easy driving distance of Bath and Chippenham, Buttle Farm offers a super-luxurious experience at its award-winning holiday cottage. A short drive from the pretty Wiltshire town of Calne, this adaptable accommodation is available with two, three or four bedrooms.
Buttle Farm is a working farm where extensive free range rare breed pigs are reared, and this tranquil setting is ideal for guests looking to enjoy a peaceful break. The cottage itself, formerly a barn built from chalk blocks, provides delightful accommodation for up to eight people – and earned a Five Star gold rating from Visit England.
The barn retains elements of its original look, but has been thoroughly modernised and equipped with all the facilities you may need. A spacious living area gives you comfy sofas, a flatscreen TV and plenty of games to play, while the kitchen incorporates a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, breakfast bar and a large dining table which can seat up to 10.
The west facing courtyard garden is another highlight, offering another great dining space and a Weber barbecue. There are two huge super-king bedrooms in the main barn, and two bathrooms (one en suite) with bathrobes, towels and luxury Cowshed toiletries.
The additional two bedrooms can be found just across the yard in a separate building, each with a super king-size bed, underfloor heating, coffee machine, sofa and TV. One of these also has its own lounge area. Vaulted ceilings add yet more character to each of the four bedrooms.
Buttle Farm can also serve as a venue if you are planning a special occasion, from a wedding to a family reunion, with plenty of outdoor space. Assistance with event planning is also available.
If you are looking to see the sights of the local area, you are well placed at Buttle Farm – attractive towns like Marlborough, and Chippenham are within a 20-minute drive, with Bath and Bristol within 50 minutes, and Salisbury, Oxford and Winchester not much more than an hour away. Stonehenge is around 25 miles away, and just one of a wealth of fascinating heritage sites around the region. Avebury stone circles are also nearby and well worth a visit.
