This five-star holiday cottage is nestled away in the quaint village of North Queensferry and boasts breathtaking sea views across St. David’s Bay and the Firth of Forth. Just a stone’s throw away from Edinburgh, it makes a perfect refuge to retreat to after a day spent in the vibrant city, as well as being a wonderful base from which to explore the Fife countryside. The property itself has been beautifully designed, furnished and decorated, with lots of space for families and friends to socialise and relax.
Guests will enter into the main hallway, which has lots of room to drop off boots and bags. This leads into the open-plan living-kitchen-dining area at the heart of the home. The stylish and modern room is extremely spacious and benefits from large, bi-folding doors that lead out into the garden and provide lots of natural light. It’s where you’ll find the lounge, with comfy seating and a huge smart TV, ideal for a family movie night.
The bespoke kitchen boasts state-of-the-art appliances and everything you could need to cook up a feast. Next to the kitchen is a grand oak dining table where guests can share meals together, kept warm and cosy by a traditional log burner. There’s also a breakfast bar, a lovely spot to enjoy a morning coffee and take in the view.
The cottage sleeps up to seven (five adults and two children) in four bedrooms. On the ground floor is a single bedroom and upstairs are two king size bedrooms and a children’s bunk room. Each room is complete with luxurious bed mattresses and linen, a smart TV and plenty of storage space. There is one shower room on the ground floor and a delightful, shared bathroom on the first floor with a freestanding bath and large separate shower.
A real highlight of Bridges Cottage is the outdoor space. The fully enclosed garden is a great place to unwind, with multiple seating areas and gorgeous sea views. In the summer months, guests can fire up the BBQ and relax long into the evening under the starry sky.
Bridges Cottage is found in North Queensferry, a picturesque seaside village in Fife that lies beside the iconic Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village has an award-winning restaurant, local pub, café and shop, as well as access to five rustic beaches. It’s also home to the Deep Sea World (a great day out for all the family) and the world’s smallest lighthouse, which offers a unique view of Forth Bridge.
The village is located on the Fife Coastal Path, where you can walk or cycle along the rugged coastline and discover the scenery, and maybe even spot some of the seals, dolphins and whales in the Firth. Known as the ‘Home of Golf’, you’ll be spoilt for choice with courses to tee off from in the surrounding area, including some of the famed fairways of St Andrews. And of course, the city of Edinburgh is within easy reach, a 30-minute drive or 20-minute train journey.
