In the charming little village of Thornham Magna you will find the Black Swan Barn. Upon entering, guests will immediately be taken with its striking layout and eye for detail. Unlike other similar renovation projects, Black Swan Barn is of a contemporary persuasion, with its minimalist pallet and floor to ceiling windows. However, there are some features which hark back to its rustic past, such as the vaulted ceilings and beautiful exposed timber framing found throughout. Its fantastic location in the middle of the historic county of Suffolk also makes for an excellent base from which to explore. Sleeping up to six guests across three double rooms, Black Swan Barn is ideal for small families, groups of friends, or a couples' retreat.
The Barn is all on one floor level, making it accessible to those with mobility issues. The main living area is open planned and the kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod cons - including a coffee machine - while the dining area has ample seating for up to 10 guests. The main sitting area has a large couch, wood burning stove, and benefits from large, cornered floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing the area in natural light. There is a further sitting area with a couch and TV. The barn has three bedrooms: the king size master bedroom has an ensuite with separate bath and its own mini terrace, while the other two double rooms have their own ensuite with rainfall showers. There is also a separate WC. Outside, there is a patio area with outdoor furniture, a large garden, and 12-acres of land to explore.
Thornham Magna is a rural village teaming with character. You will be a 10-minute walk from the local pub, The Four Horseshoes, and there are numerous local walks for nature lovers to enjoy. Just a 40-minute drive away is the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This area has a diverse range of land to explore and offers visitors some of the region’s most stunning scenery. Should you wish to visit some of the local urban areas, the city of Norwich lies 45-mins to the north, Bury St Edmunds is 35-mins to the west, while the historic county town of Ipswich is a 30-minute drive south.
