Built in stylish Scandinavian style, Big Sky Lodges are solid log houses from Finland, set within the stunning countryside of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Take your pick of six warm and cosy log cabins:
Eagle Lodge
Piper's Wood Lodge
Red Kite Lodge
Mountain Lodge
Wildcat Lodge
Rowan Lodge
From original artwork to handmade furniture, it’s the small touches make each lodge unique and homely. Solid pine floors give a chalet-style feel to the properties and all sleep up to six people within two or three traditional, wood-panelled bedrooms.
You’ll be given a Scottish greeting on arrival to the lodges with complimentary Tunnocks Teacakes, tea, coffee and fresh milk. A simple and stylish open living area connects a dining space to a well-equipped kitchen in each lodge; all are large enough to cook for a family-sized party. Wood-burning stoves give the log cabins a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which to read and relax on the deep leather sofas.
The Pipers Wood, Red Kite and Eagle Lodge all feature private balconies, giving guests the option to sit and watch the sun setting – or the Northern Lights - with a drink in hand in the evenings. All of the lodges also have a veranda on which breakfast can be enjoyed outdoors in the summer sunshine.
Bird feeding stations fitted outside will invite plenty of natural wildlife to the doorstep, and horses and highland cattle can easily be spotted in the surrounding birch woodland and open meadows.
A great and cosy base for exploring, Big Sky Lodges are within 17 acres of traditional Scottish croft land. The croft provides a safe enclosure for visitors with small children to roam around in freely. Families can continue their group adventures further afield too, with the lodges located near some of the most spectacular national sites in Scotland, including both Inverness and Loch Ness.
