In the rolling hills outside of Stratford upon Avon, set on some beautiful farmland, Ben’s Burrow is a quaint and quirkily designed lodge-style cabin with comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to nine guests and an infant. Private, picturesque, and tucked away next to a private duck and koi-carp filled pond, Ben’s Burrow is a dreamy self-catering option for larger families and groups looking for a rural holiday somewhere a little unusual.
This spacious and pleasingly laid out timber cabin is arranged over two storeys, with a downstairs king-sized bedroom and a double bedroom both on the ground floor. The upstairs level contains a triple bedroom with a double and single bed and another, more private space with a self-contained flat containing twin beds, ideal for anybody looking for additional independence or privacy.
The four bedrooms share four bathrooms, one of which is found in the self-contained apartment-style space. Downstairs, the kitchen is something of a focal point, where guests tend to gather in the morning before setting out, and end their days preparing a communal meal to enjoy indoors or outside around the spacious timber all-weather dining table. In addition to Ben’s Burrow itself, there is truly unique transparent geodesic dome that hovers over the pond, creating a snug and unusual space from which to watch the birds, chart the movement of the stars, or simply curl up with a book and a glass of wine in the late afternoon.
Everything about this house has been judiciously designed with comfort, luxury and enjoyment at its heart, from the bathtub for a particularly decadent bath, to the large and easy to use outdoor gas-fired barbecue, ideal for grilling organic local meat. With ample outdoor and inside space, this is a perfect choice for families with younger children, or parties looking to work, play and explore simultaneously. Whatever the weather, and regardless of your interests, this is a perfect countryside getaway.
Located at the tip of the Cotswolds, you’re not far from one of England’s most idyllic rural areas, with the cheery gastropubs, historic battle sites and stately homes within easy reach. The farm itself is a luxury glamping spot, with hot tubs, a grazing paddock for picnics and blowing off steam, and of course animals, rare birds, clear starry skies and the excitement of a farm. For a dinner with great views, book a window table at the Castle at Edgehill, a celebrity hangout with a great menu, or head to the critically acclaimed Royal Oat at Whatcote for unforgettable food. History and literary buffs should definitely make the twenty minute trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of The Bard, while the acreage and stately home at Blenheim Palace is unmissable, and just a twenty five minute drive.
