Enjoy a relaxing retreat in the Lake District at Barley Barn. This pristine, contemporary barn conversion sits in a peaceful valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. Formerly a barley store, this Grade II listed barn has been lovingly transformed into a modern, homely space with fabulous furnishings, amazing views of the surrounding scenery and a private hot tub.
In summer sit out on your private patio enjoying the incredible views with your morning coffee or evening drink. When the weather’s cool you can cosy up in front of the wood-burning fireplace in the open-plan living area that also features a huge, comfy sofa and yet more fantastic views. Warm your feet in front of the fireplace in this cosy space that also has underfloor heating and sheepskin rugs for you to snuggle into. There’s also a TV here, should you wish to relax in front of a movie or hunker down for a box set marathon.
Your designated chef will adore the seamlessly styled kitchen which has everything you need including a Quooker hot water tap and modern Siemens appliances. Guests can enjoy amazing meals on the stunning handmade dining table, which was made by local artisan craftsmen from a 183-year-old oak tree that fell during a storm.
When bedtime beckons, venture up the floating glass staircase to the mezzanine level. Here you’ll find your luxurious king size bed with crisp white linen and super-plush pillows for you to sink your head into.
Guests will also love the pristine marble wetroom with its waterfall shower and complimentary toiletries bringing notes of grapefruit and lemongrass or geranium and ylang-ylang.
The private patio has a stream burbling and a flock of sheep in the field nearby. You can relax here taking in your surroundings or hop into your own private hot tub, offering the perfect place for a relaxing soak under the stars.
Guests staying at Barley Barn can venture out and explore the marvellous surroundings of the Lake District. You’re a short drive from some of the most beautiful spots in the area, including the lakes of Ullswater, Lirlmere and Derwentwater. Outdoors enthusiasts will love the many walking, hiking and cycling routes in the area and may even want to summit Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England.
