In the East Anglian countryside, sitting on the beautiful Grove Farm, lies Alfred's barn. Alfred's is a conversion of a 16th century thatched barn and is a pleasant blend of medieval rustic and modern design. With its carefully considered layout, guests will not want for space. The open planned ground floor creates a communal feel, making it the perfect social space, while the barn and patio doors make fantastic use of natural light, lending the property an airy and bright quality. This lovingly converted property has been a labour of love for the owners, and this is self-evident upon crossing the threshold. Alfred's Barn will prove to be an ideal getaway for families and small groups of friends alike.
While it does boast all the mod cons one could expect from a modern home, it remains true to its roots with its beautiful barn exterior and interior timber framing throughout. The ground floor is open planned with a large fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area with gas fire, and a dining area which can seat up to 29 guests. Also on the ground floor is a cosy TV room, the games room (with its own pool table), a utility room and a separate WC.
Upstairs are the four bedrooms, which sleep up to eight people. The first and second floors house the four bedrooms (two with en suites), along with the main bathroom. Bedrooms one and two on the first floor are both twins, while the second floor contains both double rooms. Outside, guests can relax on the garden furniture in the private patio area.
Alfred's Barn sits in the middle of the picturesque East Anglian countryside. Just a short drive away is the Suffolk Coast and Heaths, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A favourite among nature lovers, the locale is known for its ancient woodlands, forests, small towns and villages, shingle beaches, and low eroding cliffs along 60 miles of coastline. For those wanting to explore some of the local settlements there are various options. Just over three miles from Alfred's Barn is the charming market town of Halesworth, while the seaside town of Southwold and charming village of Walberswick are not far either.
