You’ll find this spacious five-bedroom house close to the banks of Maelog Lake, just a few minutes from Rhosneigr and its beaches and with stunning views out to Snowdonia. From the outside, Glanllyn Bach is a traditional farmhouse, however, step inside and you’ll find that it’s got its own unique character. A contemporary style of furnishing has been combined with beautiful glass artwork and paintings on every wall. This charismatic interior, combined with the beautiful setting makes it the perfect spot for an escape to Anglesey’s countryside with friends and family, well away from the hustle and bustle.
Inside, you’ll find plenty of space for socialising. There’s a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with an island providing some extra surface space so everyone can lend a hand with the cooking. After dinner, move through to the large living room which features comfy sofas and armchairs gathered around a log burner. It’s a cosy spot to get everyone together in the evenings for a board game or a film on the large smart TV. If you’d prefer a quiet moment curled up on a sofa with a good book, head to the sunroom which has a lovely open feel with a vaulted ceiling, big windows and doors leading out onto the patio.
There are five bedrooms in all, one on the ground floor and four on the first, and all featuring super-king size beds that can be split into twins if preferred. As with the rest of the house, each bedroom has plenty of personality with unique furnishings, pieces of artwork and charming features like an inglenook fireplace or a cosy sitting area. They all have their own bathrooms as well as stunning views of the mountains, Maelog Lake or out towards the coast.
When the sun is shining, there’s plenty of room outdoors for you to make the most of it. The house is set on a large plot of land, surrounded by fields and with its own paddock so that the kids and the dogs can run around as much as they like. Out on the patio, there’s also a BBQ area with plenty of outdoor furniture so you can enjoy your meals outdoors, lie back on a sunlounger or relax on the sofa with a glass of something.
Glanllyn Bach feels peaceful and secluded but there’s plenty to do, right on the doorstep. Wander down to Maelog Lake, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and a great spot to watch the birds and enjoy the local flora and fauna. The bustling village of Rhosneigr is less than a mile away and its two beaches have become a bit of a hub for watersports, particularly kite surfing and wind surfing. One of the best ways to explore a bit more of the island is by bike with routes along the coast where you can stop off at pretty beaches and secret coves along the way.
