There’s a well-equipped kitchen for relaxed cooking, a sumptuous bed dressed in soft linens and a refreshing rain shower to revive you after a long walk. Outdoors, the star of the show is the alfresco bathtub. Sink beneath the bubbles as dusk settles across the fields and enjoy a sky full of constellations with nothing but the sounds of nature around you. It’s indulgence in its simplest, most soothing form.

When hunger calls, fire up the Kamado grill for slow outdoor suppers or make use of tea, coffee and basic cooking essentials provided. A complimentary bottle of wine awaits as a warm welcome, and you can order locally sourced hampers bursting with Norfolk flavours.

Wildscapes is especially welcoming to four-legged guests. Dogs stay free and are thoroughly spoilt with natural shampoo, blankets, a fenced area for safe roaming and plenty of space for muddy adventures, thanks to the dedicated dog bath and outdoor tap. With exclusive access to 2.5km and 5km trails that wind through the Wendling Beck Project, you and your pup can explore this remarkable nature recovery landscape at your own pace.

During your stay you can also take part in one of a number of nature-led experiences on-site, from guided tours that introduce the principles of landscape recovery to immersive ecology walks led by the project’s Head Ecologist. Learn to identify wildlife, explore habitats and discover edible plants, herbs and fungi on specialist foraging walks available seasonally. You can also join an “Eat Wild” session to prepare wild game for cooking back at your cabin, or book bespoke dog training with expert trainer Sharon Dingle, perfect for energetic or working breeds looking to thrive in a natural setting.

After days immersed in wildlife and wide skies, wander to the nearby pub for a hearty meal and a dose of local charm. Further afield, rural Norfolk offers a wonderfully varied mix of coastline, culture and countryside to explore. Head to the North Norfolk coast for vast sandy beaches, salt marshes and big, ever-changing skies, with favourites like Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham and Blakeney perfect for long walks and wildlife spotting. For a dose of history, independent shops and great food, the cathedral city of Norwich is an easy day trip with its cobbled lanes and riverside paths. The Norfolk Broads sit a bit further away but reward the journey with tranquil waterways, boat trips and peaceful nature reserves ideal for slow, scenic adventures.
