The Details
This idyllic and romantic stay for two offers couples a laid back place to unwind amidst remarkable scenery in Yorkshire. A marvellously rural retreat, Whitwell Nook is nicely secluded, ensuring you have plenty of peace and privacy alongside stunning views of the rolling hills around you.
When you arrive you can drop your bags off in the bedroom before heading out to your spacious patio for a drink in the sunshine with the view. Out here you’ll find some comfy alfresco seating and a private hot tub which offers you the perfect place to unwind as the stars come out above.
Heading inside, the open plan living space features a comfy lounge area with a giant TV for movie nights and sliding glass doors that connect you seamlessly to the outdoor space. This room has giant high ceilings, whitewashed walls and lots of exposed wooden beams that add to the character of the room. To top it off, underfloor heating throughout keeps your toes cosy whatever the weather.
Get comfy on the sofa with a glass of wine or take your morning coffee here as you gaze out at the view. Just off the lounge area is the modern kitchen that is nicely kitted out with all the appliances you’ll need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. And when dinner’s ready, serve it up on the round dining table that sets the scene for romantic meals that stretch into the night. On warm days you can also make use of the BBQ outside, grilling up some delicious local produce.
When night falls, Whitwell Nook has a wonderfully cosy bedroom with a super-comfy bed that all but guarantees a perfect night’s sleep. And just off the bedroom is a lovely modern bathroom with a giant shower and a superb bathtub for indulgent soaks.
When it comes to days out, there’s lots to see and do in the local area. Nestled between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, you’re perfectly placed for adventure. Wander heather-topped moorland, steam through valleys on the heritage railway or trace clifftop trails towards Whitby’s dramatic coastline. To the west, the Dales tempt you with limestone pavements, hidden waterfalls and cosy stone-built villages. Cycle quiet lanes, hike to windswept summits or savour local cheeses in market towns.
