Perched on a wooded hilltop in complete privacy, this magnificent farmhouse is a luxurious playground for those looking to relax amongst nature in Portugal's Algarve region. Guests will love starting the day with a dip in the saltwater pool before drying off in the morning sunshine while nibbling pastries and sipping coffee while admiring the wonderful views.
The farmhouse is a short drive from the Algarve's renowned beaches but on-site there is enough to keep visitors content for the entirety of their stay. Maybe challenge friends to a game of pickle ball and work up an appetite before settling down under the covered terrace, sheltered from the sun's strongest rays, and tuck into grilled fish, barbecued at the outdoor kitchen and washed down with a crisp white from the one of the many local vineyards.
In the afternoon, explore the lovely grounds, brush by the pretty wild flowers and take in the scent, wander to the brook and hike the hillside. Or, settle on one of the many outdoor seating areas and relax, perhaps taking a little nap while the sun moves over.
Evenings are easy to while-away with late night dips or a game of pétanque at dusk before another lovely meal. There is a modern, well-equipped indoor kitchen where dinners made with fresh local produce can be prepared. And, after dinner, why not bring the day to a close with a movie showing at the outdoor cinema, or simply enjoy the star-filled skies?
And, when eyelids get heavy, there are three beautiful bedrooms, kept cool in the summer with ceiling fans and air-conditioning and cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, where guests can collapse amongst the crisp linens after sunny days by the pool. Fall asleep to the sound of the cicadas and wake to warm sunlight filling the room, with the thick curtains keeping out the light for those sleeping late. White Egret has two further bedrooms in the wooden treehouses, a short walk from the main farmhouse, and with lovely views over the ravine.
There is plenty to see and do in the local area, take a hike up the nearby hill to the neighbouring vineyard, head out to one of the many golf courses, or take your pick from the numerous incredible sandy beaches nearby. Perhaps, take a ferry to Armona Island with its fabulous beaches, independent shops and great fish restaurants.
