The detail

Villa Opioma is a modern villa of truly spectacular contemporary design - light-filled, spacious and open-plan, you'll feel like you've stepped into the pages of an interiors magazine. The villa comes with plenty of little touches to make your stay extra luxurious, from the jacuzzi you'll find up on the roof terrace, the steam room, and the home cinema room, to the geothermally heated outdoor pool.

Villa Opioma is a large, airy three storey villa, with huge windows onto the private grounds, bringing the outside in. It sleeps up to eight people in four generous and comfortable double bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and two of which have private balconies overlooking the gardens.

The main living space occupies the ground floor, and at the centre is an incredibly sleek kitchen containing everything you could ever need to rustle up dinner for eight. Leading on from the kitchen is a beautiful dining room, which features an aquarium built into the wall. On the other side of the kitchen is the magnificent living room, a huge, cool, double-height space with an enormous sofa, ideal for a siesta if the heat of the day gets too much.

There are further treats in store on the lower ground floor. Here you'll find the games room, with a glass wall which looks directly out into the swimming pool, making the whole room feel as if it's underwater. There's also a six-person home cinema room and a sliver-tiled steam room.

The outside is just as luxurious as the inside. The villa features a sun-trap roof terrace with a sunken jacuzzi, seating area and great views. The gardens are mature and well-tended, with palms trees providing cooling shade. The sparkling swimming pool is heated by geothermal energy to keep you warm on your early morning swim. It's surrounded by decking with sun loungers, leading to an outdoor dining area with BBQ grill.

Villa Opioma is located in the Algarve's Quinta Verde resort, a tranquil and relaxed place which offers an ideal balance of peace and quiet combined with places to eat and activities such as golf, bike hire, gym and spa - and all of it just a short hop from the golden sandy beaches of Portugal's Algarve coast.
