Villa do Bosque is an authentic Portuguese weatherboard villa that sleeps six. Boasting three stylish bedrooms and bathrooms, this bohemian villa is located just a short drive away from some of Portugal's most pristine beaches and villages. Set in 20 acres of pine forest, Villa do Bosque offers guests access to a generous, private covered patio and pool, making it the perfect place to enjoy an idyllic Portuguese summer.
If you're looking to sample the hidden coastal gem of Comporta and want a truly Portuguese experience, then Villa do Bosque can't be overlooked. Much of its handcrafted decor was made by local artisans taking inspiration from the Comporta and Alentejo regions. Combine this with the simplistic weatherboard build and bright, neutral colours inside, and you have a uniquely Mediterranean atmosphere that puts you at ease from the moment you set foot in the villa.
Villa do Bosque boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms and is decorated in a charmingly minimalist style. While it has its own cosy sitting area, the property is best suited to those who want to spend most of their time outdoors; set in 20 acres of tranquil pine forest, Villa do Bosque offers ample seating space on its elegant covered patio, so you can read, eat, and relax outside no matter the weather.
For self-caterers, Villa do Bosque offers a simple but elegant kitchenette that provides all of the amenities you'd need to make the perfect home-cooked meal. Sporting a convection hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and microwave, the Villa is more than sufficient for those looking to do all of their cooking at home... unless you want to venture further afield to try the delicious local cuisine (and why wouldn't you)?
Portugal is world-renowned for its incredible cuisine, and the seaside town of Setúbal, just a short drive away from Villa do Bosque, is an excellent place to sample some of the freshest seafood you'll ever try. In the town, you'll find the Mercado do Livramento, regarded by many as one of the best fish markets in the world. And, if fine dining is your thing, Setúbal is home to several restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide, including Restaurante Xtoria and the sushi restaurant Carvao Ryori.
But, there's more to Setúbal than food; the town is home to some incredible historic and cultural sites, including the 16th century Monastery of Jesus, the breathtaking mazes of the Quinta da Bacalhoa, and the elegant Igreja de São Julião. If you'd like to prioritise spending time in nature, you can fairly easily visit the stunning Arrábida National Park from Setúbal.
