Enjoy luxury on the volcanic island of Lanzarote at Villa Alcalde. Once the house of the former Mayor of Tias, it has now been lovingly restored and modernised to cater for families and groups.

Sitting in an elevated position, those staying can enjoy stunning views on all sides; be it across the Atlantic Ocean, the distant lights of Puerto Colero and Arrecife, or watching the sun set behind the volcanoes in the national park.

Across the villa there are seven spacious bedrooms, which sleep 14 guests as standard. Three are super king size, two are king size, and two have twin beds. There is also a snug room that can be adapted to become an eighth bedroom and sleep two further guests.

Each bedroom, including the snug room, has its own private bathroom and all have been designed to ensure luxury and comfort throughout.

Six of the bedrooms sit at ground level, while one bedroom and the snug room are on the upper level. The final bedroom is in the outbuilding, an area that can be used for a variety of activities. With beautiful views of the gardens and natural light flooding in, it is also ideal for yoga, meditation, and general relaxation.

The large, open plan living area can be found on the first floor and has been designed to adapt to whatever the guests need; from dinner parties, drinks evenings, or lazy nights in. The lounge area flows into the dining room and modern, fully equipped kitchen, while glass doors along the entire length of two sides of the villa open out on to glorious terraces.

The terraces not only offer breathtaking views, but also extend the living space for dining, lounging, and entertaining.

Villa Alcalde sits among a 1,200m walled plot of landscaped grounds, which also includes a Cesar Manrique-inspired sunken and heated swimming pool. As well as that there is a raised hot tub, games area, large stone pit and barbecue, and a second outdoor kitchen.

Located near the town of Macher, all of Lanzarote's attractions are within easy reach from here, but Macher itself has been unspoiled by commercialisation and represents a traditional Canarian lifestyle.

The town also has a supermarket and a number of highly recommended restaurants.
